Food & Cooking

Who doesn't love a great healthy meal. And once you get a taste of a great meal you only crave for more of it.

I first started to cook in 2006 during when I was a full-time MBA student. Prior to that, I did cook but only the essentials. When it became a necessity in 2006, I ventured into learning and preparing some difficult dishes and I turned out to become quite good at it with practice. And therefore my interest in learning new recipes gradually increased. I've kept an interest in good food ever since. But I'm no expert by any means.

Over the years I've realised that cooking a great meal (or even a single dish) is a combination of great knowledge about food and multitasking; some bit of physics (the right temperature), chemistry (flavours of ingredients and what ingredients go well together), biology (what tastes good to the palate and what's good for health), timing and presentation. So, in many ways cooking helps keep these skills tuned to perfection. And learning by doing is the best way to learn when it comes to cooking. However, my best dishes are the ones homemade by my mother (also my first teacher).

Cooking is an art. There are so many dishes and so many more than need to be discovered. A dish that suits your palate may not suit another's. There are so many combinations of ingredients and methods that with just a small twist you can get completely different tasting dish.

Just like every novice, I look up recipes of dishes, save them, prepare them, and sometimes experiment with them. With practice, I hope to get good at them and someday call myself a good chef and perhaps cooking may become one of my hobbies.

This page is dedicated to my favourite recipes that I tried and loved. I'm figuring out how to structure this page. I don't want to list down recipes here... there are tons of websites for that. I don't want to list down dishes that I like... just because I like them doesn't mean you'll like them. So, until I figure out what I'm going to put down here, I'll just let this page be for now.
